Hypnotic Coaching
Don't stay stuck - move forward
Hypnotic coaching (also sometimes called hypno-coaching) helps you to move forward even when you feel 'stuck' in some aspect of your personal or professional life. Sometimes people don't have a specific issue or problem in mind - they are simply aware that life is not as good as it could be, or their life lacks direction or goals.
What is hypno-coaching?
Hypno-coaching blends proven and established techniques of performance / life coaching with the power of hypnosis. Harvard educationalist Timothy Gallwey states that the essence of coaching 'is unlocking a person's potential to maximise their own performance. It is helping them to learn rather than teaching them.' Hypnosis uses the client's unconscious resources to uncover and utilise motivations, emotions and behaviours, to be used in a future-focussed way as part of the coaching process.
What can I expect from my hypno-coach?
Coaching delivers results largely because of the supportive relationship between the coach and the coachee, and means and style of communication used. Coaching differs from mentoring in that it aims for immediate improvement of performance, whereas mentoring is more concerned with advising on the longer-term acquisition of skills. You can expect your coach to be patient, supportive, interested, perceptive and attentive. All conversations and records are totally confidential.
What does coaching consist of?
Your therapist will facilitate the coaching process and will use a number of appropriate techniques to do this, such as asking you a range of thought-provoking questions that empower you to organise your thinking and identify clear actions, or the use of hypnosis or NLP as appropriate. Typically this process will help you clarify specific goals, identify available resources, assist in overcoming obstacles and provide a way forward. You can also expect a partnership approach that will involve a degree of 'homework' (don't worry - it won't be marked!). A typical face to face consultation may last one and a half hours.
How often do I need coaching sessions?
This is something we’ll discuss in your initial consultation, but it really is whatever works for you. I have clients who prefer weekly sessions, others once a month. Some of my clients have found that weekly sessions do not provide them with enough time to follow up on actions whereas others have found that they lost focus by leaving a month between sessions. If you’re not sure what is right for you, we’ll work it out together – no pressure.
I offer one to one hypnotic coaching, face to face at my Alyth practice, or online via Zoom or Skype. If you would like to discuss my approach to coaching and how I can help you to move forward, please telephone me on 01828 633033 or complete the enquiry form at the foot of the page.
